What if the most unlikely, the most unexpected thing were to happen today? You are just going through your normal day, like you always do, carefree, happy, jovial, thinking about what you normally think about. You turn to thinking about how your week has been, what you did last night. A big smile is pasted all over your face. A sense of excitement overtakes you as you gradually start planning what you’re going to do, with your honey of course, tonight. Everything is just great! Life, as you know it, is good!

Suddenly! Without any warning, a very strong wind is blowing. You are startled! There’s not a cloud in the sky. You hear a noise that causes you to turn around suddenly. You look up. And you see the silhouette of what you perceive is a spirit being. Before you know it, you can feel his presence all around you, even all through you. This is no ordinary feeling. What you are experiencing can’t be possible. An extremely unexpected, utterly fearful, supernatural event is taking place. What can it be? Who can it be?

His presence overwhelms you. You begin to sob. You want to shake it off. But you can’t. You’d like to run away. But it seems there’s nowhere to run. You feel so despicable, so deplorably sinful. Up to now, your sin was good to you. It was fun. It brought you great pleasure. You had been hoping to experience some more of it tonight. But now the horror of your sin is right in your face, like looking into a life-size mirror as your dreadful acts of sin pass by for you to see. You fall prostrate on the ground, ignoring everyone around you.

Now you know you are experiencing the presence of God. What you don’t know is how to respond. Your life of disobedient indulgence has paralyzed you. Fear comes upon you like a tidal wave. Your whole body is trembling like you’re in a dreadful earthquake. You’re finding it hard to breathe. You’re gasping for your breath. Your heart is pounding in your chest. If only you had…! You look up toward the sky. Unexplainably, you realize that horrible day of Jesus’ return has come. You thought it was just a myth. Those fools! They’ll believe anything! This is what you thought. But now!

But the hour of His coming is upon you. If only you had gotten ready!! If only your family, your parents, your children, even you, had taken the Christians, even the Bible, seriously.
